The Excelsior Business Attraction & Support Committee
is a relatively new committee dedicated to supporting the existing businesses along the Excelsior's Commercial Corridor, as well as attracting new ones. Meeting time is used to discuss the current business climate in the Excelsior: new businesses that have opened, businesses that have closed, business categories that the Excelsior lacks/needs, strategies for attracting new businesses. EAG is always looking to develop relationships with local businesses so that we can get feedback from business owners as well as outreach to them about the free services we offer.
We ask that committee members cultivate relationships with business owners in the time between committee meetings, or take information regarding EAG's services to businesses that committee members already have an established relationship with. This is as simple as striking up a conversation with the person behind the counter (or a business owner) whenever you happen to patron a business, so that they get to know you, and you them. upcoming, committee agenda

Excelsior Directory
Through a time intensive, individual process, the Excelsior Action Group nonprofit organization has surveyed 251 businesses on the Excelsior's commercial corridor and organized their basic information into an Excelsior business directory.
Business Attraction Needs Assessment
EAG is currently conducting a "Business Attraction Needs Assessment" of Mission Street in order to learn, from residents, which important businesses are missing along the corridor and, of the businesses we have, which should we try extra hard to hang on to and support. Using the data we collect, we plan on developing a list of desired businesses and outreaching to them in order to get them inside our vacant spaces along the corridor. The survey is short and should only take about 5 minutes to complete. Tell your friends! The survey can be found online in English, Spanish, and Chinese.
