Excelsior Festival & Sunday Streets

In 2017 the Excelsior Action Group tried something new after 15 years successfully hosting the Excelsior Festival. The Excelsior Festival, established in 2002 so outgrew its footprint that EAG instead partnered with Excelsior Sunday Streets to host activities during the event in the Persia Triangle as guests enjoyed the overall event. SF Sunday Streets which came to the Excelsior in 2011, now works with us and other groups to expand the event to 2 times a year and expand the footprint.  EAG's 2019's team again staffed a mini-park in the Persia Triangle and guests visited EAG's and City Agency community information tables to envision a Persia Triangle Town Square. The area also offered a children's play area, and rest areas to enjoy the nearby performance area. New at the October 2019 event were pedicabs, a pet parade and perfect weather. The 2019 overall event attracted almost 10,000 visitors! We expect the 2020 Sunday Streets will do that as well.
