Next Phase: Excelsior & Outer Mission Neighborhood Strategy Meeting to Reconvene in 2020

The Excelsior Action Group has been working with the Mayor's Fix-It Team - and partner agencies over the last 2 years to get things fixed in our neighborhood! We invited Sandra Zuniga, Fix-It Director to the January 2018 EAG Board of Directors meeting when we discussed more Fix-it team activities EAG wants to see done during the year with the goal of putting more permanent "fixes" in place throughout 2020.
Below are 2017 Fix-it efforts to date with all Excelsior & Outer Mission residents. 226 Property Owners Contacted Regarding Dumping and Cleanliness In collaboration with Public Works enforcement teams, Fix-it conducted outreach to 226 property owners about their waste management responsibilities Six Fix-It Corridor Ambassadors In partnerships with Public Works, there are now six Fix-It Ambassadors deployed along the main corridor calling in graffiti and other quality of life issues and cleaning throughout Friday through Monday from 11am-8pm. 52 Repainted Curbs & Crosswalks Crosswalks, street markings, bus zones and yellow zones were repainted by MTA in the neighborhood. 16 Lights Replaced Fix-It worked with the Public Utilities Commission to repair 16 outages throughout the neighborhood. 10 Pruned Trees & 48 Weeded Basins Maintained greenery was an important area of focus for the neighborhood, and Fix-It was able to organize the pruning of 10 trees and weeding of 48 tree basins.28 Unmaintained Newsracks Removed Fix-It worked with the Public Works to remove unmaintained news racks. 16 Potholes Filled or Patched Fix-It worked with Public Works to fill and patch 16 potholes throughout the neighborhood. 36 Repaired Traffic Signs & Street Lights Fix-It worked with MTA to implement 20 sign repairs and 16 street light repairs including lights on Mission Street. |
