Explore the District

The distinctive identity and local pride of the Excelsior District neighborhood is its famous international country and major city street names. One can stand at the corner of Naples and Italy, Paris and France, or Russia and Moscow.

As you travel east down Geneva Avenue, look up into the pie-shape Crocker-Amazon neighborhood hugged by the southern hills of the San Bruno mountains, and see if you can find the rooftop cow.

Head south along the outer edge of Mission Street as it heads to the County border and take in the unique architecture of the commercial buildings: Country Cottage, Art Deco, Moderne and Mediterranean Revival.
