Pavian Fashion is owned by Vivian Zhang and is located on 4687 Mission Street. The store has been in business for 21 years and sells woman’s clothing. As part of the Excelsior Extreme Makeover Façade Improvement Program, Pavian Fashion replaced its sign and added floral designs onto it.
After the improvements, Ms. Zhang said working with EAG was a great experience.
After talking to TianYu, the designer of the Pavian Fashian sign, she revealed to me that working on a community driven facade improvement program was a lot different from working on her previous projects. A junior at UC Berkeley, TianYu explained that this was more challenging because there was a budget she had to follow and she had to be considerate of what the owner wants as well. TianYu became inspired to come up with this design after she talked with the owner of Pavian Fashian, Vivian Zhang. Ms. Zhang told TianYu that her store is a place to make people look beautiful, and she wanted that to show in the sign. The first color that TianYu thought of was purple because it resembles gracefulness. She decided to incorporate flower detailing on the sign to help make it look more girly and appealing.
